Kylah Z. Benson holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Temple University, as well as a Master of Education from Grand Canyon University. Classically trained in high school and later jazz-trained at the collegiate level, she brings over a decade of experience in vocal performance and piano, grounded in both classical and jazz theory. Throughout her undergraduate career, she performed in collegiate choirs and jazz ensembles, while also singing background vocals, co-writing original music, participating in her church choir, and performing on stages alongside local artists throughout Philadelphia.

Kylah is a former member of the Philadelphia All-City Choir, has participated in multiple vocal ensembles across the Philadelphia area. She began singing and playing piano in church at the age of seven and later served as a youth choir director, selecting repertoire, teaching vocal parts, and preparing singers for concerts and workshops. During high school, she independently wrote and produced a self-titled album, marking the beginning of her journey in songwriting and recording artistry.

Kylah later pursued her Master of Education and taught with the School District of Philadelphia, combining her performance background with formal training in instruction and student development. In addition, she has provided private voice and piano lessons to both children and adults, tailoring her teaching approach to meet the individual goals and learning styles of each student. This dual foundation in music and education allows her to approach lessons with both artistic excellence and intentional, student-centered methodology. She is passionate about helping each student discover their unique voice and grow into confident, expressive musicians.

She specializes in pop, R&B, gospel, and jazz vocal performance, as well as beginner to intermediate piano instruction. Kylah is excited to return to Voice By Chelsea and is honored to contribute to a studio community dedicated to artistic excellence, confidence building, and student growth.
