Trying to decide between one-on-one voice lessons or group lessons? Decisions, decisions! Here at Voice by Chelsea, we offer both private and group virtual lessons. Both options have their respective benefits, so which do you choose? We know decision fatigue is real, so we want to make the choice a little easier!

Group voice lessons are a really fun way to get started, especially if you’re newer to singing or a bit nervous! You’re learning alongside other people in a small group, which can take some of the pressure off and make the whole experience feel more relaxed. Surprisingly, watching the teacher give technical corrections and tips on musicality, and seeing another student work to implement it, can be very helpful for your own learning, also. Plus, there's something really special about connecting with others through music and watching your fellow students improve right alongside of you!

Private lessons are a bit more focused and personalized. It’s just you and the instructor, so everything is tailored specifically to your voice and your goals. If you’re working toward something like an audition, a solo, or just really want to improve quickly, this kind of one-on-one attention can make a big difference. You also get more space to explore your own sound without worrying about anyone else listening in. For both teacher and student, cultivating a relationship in the voice studio can be one of the most rewarding parts of voice lessons.
Group classes build confidence and make things fun, while private lessons help you fine-tune your technique and grow faster. The good news is... You don’t have to lock yourself into just one decision. It’s okay to try things out and see what feels right for you. If you change your mind, you can always switch to the other path!

At the end of the day, the most important thing to consider when choosing between private and group classes is whichever is going to make you feel the most comfortable and excited to sing!
So, which will it be? 👀
