Associate Voice Teacher

Julia Ragusa is a Boston based coloratura soprano, actor, and dancer with her Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theatre Arts from Gordon College.  Additionally, she studied at Fordham University’s Summer Musical Theatre Intensive at Lincoln Center.  Professionally and in college,she has performed a variety of leading roles both in musicals and straight plays including The Baker in Witch Cakes: The Musical (Providence Fringe Festival), Bridget Bishop in Cry Innocent: The People Vs. Bridget Bishop (History Alive Inc.), Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Gordon College), and Henrietta Leavitt in Silent Sky (Gordon College).  Most recently she worked as a vocal company member for the College Light Opera Company’s virtual 52nd season.

Julia has plenty of experience teaching private voice lessons, and her mission is to provide a safe, challenging, and fun environment for students to explore and grow!

She teaches both vocal and acting technique that utilizes body mapping, vocal acoustics, and elements of Linklater technique to set students up for success in resonance and expression.  Her specialties include musical theatre, classical, pop, and jazz.

Additionally, Julia is a social media marketer and video editor for Yellowfun Entertainment, a theatre company in the greater Boston area of Massachusetts.  She is fortunately continuing to be involved in theatre via Zoom productions such as Susan B! A Zoom Production and voiceover work for plays such as The Emperor of the Moon, and for educational content for Italian Carnevale festivals including The Fisherman’s Feast. 
 

Julia is excited to be joining Voice By Chelsea, and is always thrilled to work with and mentor students!
