CATHERINE
Associate Voice Teacher

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Shenandoah Conservatory and a Master of Music Performance from UNC Greensboro–both in voice performance. She has training in opera and musical theatre, and she has taught those genres and more (including pop, country, and indie) since March 2020. 

Catherine is inspired by her students’ curiosity and joy, and will do everything she can to adapt to your own learning style to help you reach your singing goals. She believes in developing a relationship with your entire body as your instrument, and explains age-appropriate applications of voice science and technique. Her students have progressed to undergraduate music programs, won leads in musicals, and advanced to final rounds of national voice competitions. 

 

As a performer, Catherine has sung extensively as a musical actor and recitalist. She has sung with the Russian Opera Workshop, Greensboro Opera, UNCG Opera Theatre and Shenandoah Conservatory Opera; she will make her principal role debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni this year, 2023.
